System Features

The PCUS®pro single-channel ultrasonic frontend is designed to meet requirements of high data acquisition rates and high inspection speeds. In combination with custom software modules, the user can inspect parts and components effectively at high quality levels.

The USB 2.0 interface (no power supply required) provides high-speed data transfers at a maximum of 40MB/sec. The small dimensions (120mm length, 100mm width and 40mm height) provide easy portability and near transducer setup.

Transmitter

• Single-channel transmitter

• -50V to -250V pulse voltage, adjustable in 1V increments

• Negative rectangular pulse

• 50Ω output impedance

• 0μs to 40μs pulse delay, adjustable in 5μs steps

• 10ns to 500ns pulse width, adjustable in 2.5ns steps

• Up to 2kHz pulse repetition frequency, depending on recording length, pulse width, sampling rate and transmitter voltage

 Receiver

• Single-channel receiver

• Pulse/Echo or Transmit/Receive mode

• 500kHz to 30MHz (-3dB) frequency range

• Up to four analog receiver band filters (user selectable frequencies)

• TGC with 80dB dynamic range, adjustable in 0.1dB increments, 256 points and ±40dB/μs slope

• Attenuation/Amplification >100dB, adjustable in 0.1dB increments

• 100μVss input sensitivity

Signal Path

• 0μs to 655μs transducer delay in 10ns increments

• 65,535 samples maximum recording length

• 14bit A/D conversion, maximum 100MS/sec

• One start gate and four measurement gates

• RF-data or compressed data recording

• Rectification:  positive, negative or full-wave
